100 days take two

I set myself a challenge to post an image of my work on my facebook and instagram pages for 100 days in a row, beginning on Monday 17th August '20 and ending on Tuesday 24th November '20

I decided to break these 100 days down into weekly projects looking at specific topics or techniques

Week 4: I love silly things. I love being silly. I often get things wrong because I am silly.

This week I set out to draw a series of dogs with sticks. Not dogs with sticks, but to draw with sticks images of dogs! See, I am silly!

I have not drawn with sticks before so it was a massive challenge, not only to use the as tools without any practice, but also to film the making. Yes, I decided i would add to the challenge by also making a mini-series of time-lapse and stop motion films of the process.

I was not at home or in my studio this week, so the lighting and camera are hastily set up, so apologies for that.

Today's stick was a reddish colour with one fat blunt end and one ripped and scratchy end - maybe from some kind of maple

So, today's stick... Today's stick was a bit of a sh*t stick.
The nobbly end didn't really do much and the whole thing started snapping soon after I began.
Not only that, but the camera stopped working about a minute in and I didn't realise for a few minutes, so there is a chunk missing.
Anyhoo, them's the breaks (literally) - still didn't stop me!

Day 75 - dog with a stick 05

Today's stick is quite big compared to the previous sticks this week. It has a large bow in the middle that adds to the challenge of how best to hold it as the weight makes it turn in my hand.
I don't practice drawing with the sticks before I film, so I am discovering at the time.

Day 74 - dog with a stick 06

Firstly, my set up today meant I was working from the side and couldn't see the eyes were Wonky till after I finished
Secondly, I couldn't see my screen to check images as my light and camera were in the way
Thirdly, I must have nudged the frame resolution just as I began as the first part is really low res, which was rectified later on as, due to other commitments, this was filmed at 3 different points throughout the day.
Blah blah blah.....

Day 73 - dog with a stick 07

Today two sticks were used and the entire thing was painted upside down, but filmed the right way round - I thought it might be easier than drawing the right way round and turning all the images - it wasn't - I was much more difficult!
